Seattle 👍

Seattle was amazing! I fell in love with this city. We stayed in an airbnb in the neighbourhood of Ballard, which was really cool. The self-contained unit was detached from the main house in a quiet street, hosted by Deb who was a legend! She baked us delicious fruit scones and gave us all the best tips on what to see and do. Ballard was beautiful to walk through. Loved the boutique shops, cafés, restaurants and of course the local craft breweries. We couldn't have stayed in Seattle and not tested the local produce.... Our faves were Ruben's and Stoup. Our favourite coffee and breakfast was at Fat Hen and dinner at Brunswick and Hunt... Amazing!! Oh and the best Mexican in the USA (so we were told by the locals) La Carta de Oaxaca...so good!

Number one on our list of things to check out in Seattle was the EMP music museum, which Wade was dying to see. I'm usually not huge on museums but this one was pretty cool. Loved the exhibits on Jimi Hendrix and Nirvana. To read, listen and view their accomplishments and accolades was quite inspiring. Wade had been desperately missing his guitar so we hired a booth for half an hour and he played until his heart's content.

The museum was also showcasing an exhibit on the Seattle Seahawks, which was cool to check out. I thought of my bro and mates back home who love sport and are NFL nuts, I'm sure they would have appreciated the experience. My highlight was definitely touching the turf from the field in which the super bowl was played on last year...

Our next venture was the Space needle. I only made up my mind half an hour beforehand that I was going to do it. My fear of heights is something that seems to creep up on me from time to time. I'm proud to say I made it, the glass elevator was tough though. We experienced some stunning views from atop the needle, however as we are novice photographers, our photos don't do the views of the city justice.

We also checked out the markets, downtown and the locks.

We were sad to say goodbye to Seattle and wish we could have stayed longer. If you ever go, do yourself a favour and check out Ballard. We will definitely be returning one day!
